Brodie On-Off Solenoid Operated Valve

Model BV10 & BV11 Flow Control Valves

Brodie Model BV10 (normally closed) and BV11 (normally open) solenoid-operated Control Valves are designed for remote on-off flow control. They are externally piped with a needle valve (response speed control) and strainer as standard equipment.

Principle of Operation:

The valves are pilot operated and work on a balanced piston principle, spring biased to a closed position.

Pressure differential overcomes the force of the spring, causing the main valve to open and establish flow. The pilot varies the pressure on the spring side of the piston for position.

  • Available in 2", 3”, 4”, 6”, 8” and 12”
  • 150# or 300# pressure rating
  • Wide range of elastomers available
  • ATEX approved solenoid valves

Brodie Pressure-Reducing Valve

Brodie Pressure-Reducing Valve

Model BV50 Brodie Control Valve

Brodie Model BV50 Control Valve is a pressure reducing valve designed to regulate a downstream pressure regardless of fluctuations in flow rate or downstream pressure. When correctly installed and adjusted, the Model BV50 valve will regulate downstream pressure at a value within +/-2 PSI (13.8 kPa) of the valve pilot’s setting.

Principle of Operation:

This valve is controlled by a pressure reducing pilot which senses line pressure at a selected point and throttles the valve to maintain a desired pressure at that point.

If line pressure at the sense point exceeds the setting of the pilot, the pilot throttles the valve until the correct pressure level is reached.

Conversely, if line pressure at the sense point falls below the setting of the pilot, the pilot throttles the valve again until the correct pressure level is reached.

  • Available in 2", 3”, 4”, 6”, 8” and 12”
  • 150# or 300# pressure rating
  • Wide range of elastomers available
  • ATEX approved solenoid valves
  • Various options available, including limit switches, position indicator, etc.

Brodie Back Pressure / Pressure Relief Valves

Brodie Back Pressure / Pressure Relief Valves

Model BV60

Brodie Model BV60 Control Valves are back pressure regulators designed to maintain a specific minimum upstream pressure regardless of fluctuations in flow rate or downstream pressure. When correctly installed and adjusted, the Model BV60 valve will maintain up stream pressure at a value within +/-2 PSI (13.8 kPa) of the valve pilot’s setting. A minimum pressure differential across the valve of 15 PSI (103 kPa) is required for it to fully open.

Principle of Operation:

The Model BV60 valve is controlled by a back pressure pilot, which senses line pressure at a selected point upstream of the valve and throttles the valve to maintain a desired minimum pressure at that point.

If line pressure at the sense point exceeds the setting of the pilot, the pilot throttles the valve open until the correct pressure level is reached.

Conversely, if line pressure at the sense point falls below the setting of the pilot, the pilot throttles the valve closed until the correct pressure level is reached.

  • Available in 2", 3”, 4”, 6”, 8” and 12”
  • 150# or 300# pressure rating
  • Wide range of elastomers available
  • ATEX approved solenoid valves
  • Various options available, including limit switches, position indicator, etc.

Brodie Flow Limiting Valve

Brodie Flow Limiting Valve

Model BV54 Flow Limiting Valve

Brodie’s Model BV54 Flow Limiting Valve is normally opened and designed to maintain a controlled flow rate within +/-2%. The pilot is balanced, single seated valve with large ports and will operate on a differential as low as 5 psi (34.5 kPa).

Principle of Operation:

The Model BV54 valve is pilot operated and operates on a balanced piston principle, spring biased to a closed position.

Pressure differential overcomes the force of the spring, causing the main valve to open and establish flow.

The rate of flow (flow limiting) valve is normally open and throttles toward a closed position on increasing differential pressure.

  • Available in 2", 3”, 4”, 6”, 8” and 12”
  • 150# or 300# pressure rating
  • Wide range of elastomers available
  • ATEX approved solenoid valves
  • Various options available, including limit switches, position indicator, etc.

Brodie Differential Control Valve

Brodie Differential Control Valve

Model BV70

Brodie’s Model BV70 Differential Control Valves are normally closed valves designed to maintain a controlled pressure differential within +/-2%. The pilot is balanced, single seated with large ports and will operate on a differential as low as 5 PSI (34.5 kPa).

Principle of Operation:

The valve is pilot operated and operates on a balanced piston principle, spring biased to a closed position.

Pressure differential overcomes the force of the spring, causing the main valve to open and establish flow.

The pilot control varies the pressure on the spring side of the piston for position.

  • Available in 2", 3”, 4”, 6”, 8” and 12”
  • 150# or 300# pressure rating
  • Wide range of elastomers available
  • ATEX approved solenoid valves
  • Various options available, including limit switches, position indicator, etc.

Brodie 2-Stage Hydraulic Valve

Brodie 2-Stage Hydraulic Valve

Model BV86

The Brodie Model BV86 Two-Stage Control Valve is a two-stage hydraulically actuated control valve designed to utilise the flow stream as the source of power. It is commonly used with a positive displacement flow meter with a mechanical pre-set counter to provide shock-free two-stage closure. Through the use of optional accessory pilots, mounted in series with the BV86 pilot, functions such as back pressure, pressure reducing, or rate of flow control can be obtained.

Principle of Operation:

The Model BV86 valve is pilot operated on a balanced piston principle, spring biased to a closed position.

Pressure differential overcomes the force of the spring, causing the main valve to open and establish flow. The pilot control(s) vary the pressure on the spring side of the piston for a position.

The hydraulic pilot is mechanically attached to and actuated by the pre-set counter of the flowmeter and is hydraulically connected to the shut-off valve.

  • Available in 2", 3”, 4”, 6”, 8” and 12”
  • 150# or 300# pressure rating
  • Wide range of elastomers available

Brodie Digital Control Valve

Model BV88

The Brodie Model BV88 Digital Control Valve is designed to provide precise flow rate control and batch delivery of fluid products when used with an electronic batch control device. The valve is controlled by the electronic pre-set for low flow start up, high flow rate control, low flow shutdown and final shut-off. This also provides for maximum flowmeter accuracy by maintaining a constant flow rate with varying line pressures.

The Model BV88 features an external pilot control loop that consists of a normally-open solenoid pilot, a normally-closed solenoid pilot, strainer and opening/closing speed controls.

Principle of Operation:

The valve is pilot operated on a balanced piston principle. It is spring biased to a closed position.

Pressure differential overcomes the force of the spring, causing the main valve to open and establish flow.
